Even the most compelling and obvious idea loses its power if the words used to communicate it are awkward, wordy, and convoluted.
Imagine the response to someone in a crowded theater calmly observing, "There appears to be an excessive amount of heat and smoke in the air. In addition, many of the materials that comprise both the building's structure and ornamentation appear to be combusting. How odd."
Now imagine someone else in that same theater exclaiming, "FIRE!"
Spoken and written languages are powerful tools to communicate ideas. Like all tools, however, misuse of language can create more problems than solutions. Much like the theater-goer above learned, poorly written articles, press releases, white papers, and the like can doom even the most powerful, creative and innovative ideas to obscurity.
For want of a nail...
